Help · FWDS Dock

If FWDS Dock has stopped

Find the line you saw below for what it means, what to do, and whether your work is safe. It nearly always is.

FWDS Dock is a toolbar inside Photoshop rather than a program of its own, and it writes its messages as sentences rather than codes. Find the line you saw below. Dock also has no free trial, so none of the trial messages the other apps show can appear here.

Not signed in - click License to sign in

Also shown as “Sign in to use FWDS Dock”.

Dock has not been told who you are yet. It looks in two places — a licence file left on this computer by another FWDS app, and its own sign-in — and has found neither.

What to do

  1. 01In the Dock toolbar, click License at the bottom right, then Sign in. A web page opens.
  2. 02Sign in there with the email that bought Dock, then go back to Photoshop and click Check now in the License window. Pressing any Dock button finishes it too.
  3. 03On the FWDS Flow Bundle, signing in to any other FWDS app on this computer licenses Dock as well. There is nothing separate to buy.

Your work: Nothing in your open document has been touched. Dock has not run.

Dock keeps working

Your FWDS Dock plan ends in 6 days

Also shown as “Your FWDS Dock plan ends today”.

A warning, not a stop. Dock says this for the last ten days of a plan and carries on working exactly as normal.

What to do

  1. 01Nothing today. Renew when it suits you.
  2. 02If the plan renews itself, the line disappears on its own once the payment goes through.

Your work: Dock is working. Even after the end date there are three more days before it stops — see “Your FWDS Dock plan has ended - renew to keep using it” below.

Dock keeps working

Your FWDS Dock plan has ended - renew to keep using it

The end date has passed and Dock is STILL WORKING. It allows three days after the end date, so a renewal that is a day or two late does not stop you in the middle of an album.

What to do

  1. 01Renew on the pricing page. Dock goes back to normal as soon as the payment clears.
  2. 02If you have already paid, click License then Check now — Dock asks us again rather than waiting for its own next check.

Your work: Dock is filling albums today. Nothing has been taken away yet.

Your FWDS Dock plan has ended

The end date and the three grace days have both passed. Dock has stopped doing the work.

What to do

  1. 01Renew on the pricing page, or message us.
  2. 02Dock works again as soon as the payment clears. There is nothing to reinstall and no settings to put back.

Your work: Every album you made is a Photoshop file on your own disk. Dock never held your work, and an ended plan does not reach it.

This account has no FWDS Dock plan

Dock found a licence on this computer and read it, and it covers other FWDS apps but not Dock. This is the usual message for somebody who owns Tone, or Leaflo by the month, and has not added Dock.

What to do

  1. 01Dock is ₹2,390 a year on its own. It comes free with FWDS Leaflo yearly or two years, and with the FWDS Flow Bundle, for as long as that plan runs.
  2. 02If you believe Dock is already on your plan, message us. We can see the plan from our end and put it right without you doing anything.

Your work: Your other FWDS apps are unaffected and carry on as normal.

This license belongs to another computer

Also shown as “This license belongs to another computer - connect to the internet once”.

The licence on this computer was made for a different computer. Nearly always that means it was copied across from another machine instead of Dock being installed and signed in here. It also happens, innocently, if you have renamed this computer since you signed in.

What to do

  1. 01Connect this computer to the internet, then click License, then Check now. Dock asks us for a licence made for this computer.
  2. 02Do not copy licence files between machines — each is written for the computer it was made on.
  3. 03Install Dock here, click License, then Sign in. That writes a file for this computer.
  4. 04If you renamed the computer, signing in again is all it takes.

Your work: Nothing in your document has been touched, and nothing has been used up. Your Dock plan still covers two computers.

Your FWDS Dock payment did not go through - please update your card

A renewal was refused — an expired card, a bank that declined it, or a mandate that needs approving again. Your plan has not been cancelled.

What to do

  1. 01Check that the card on file has not expired, and that your bank has not blocked the automatic payment.
  2. 02Once the payment goes through, Dock switches back on by itself. There is nothing else to do.
  3. 03If the payment looks fine at your end, message us.

Your work: This is not an ended plan and it is not a cancellation. Nothing of yours has been touched.

FWDS Dock is already signed in on two other computers

A plan covers two computers, and this one would be the third. Your plan is fine — this is only about how many machines are using it.

What to do

  1. 01On a computer you are not using, open the Dock toolbar, click License, then Sign out.
  2. 02Then sign in here. You can move between your machines as often as you like.

Your work: Your plan is active and nothing of yours has been touched.

FWDS Dock needs to connect once to check your plan

Also shown as “This computer’s FWDS Dock license could not be checked - connect to the internet once”.

Dock works offline, but every so often it has to reach us to confirm the plan is still running. It has been too long since the last time it managed to. You will also see this once after updating Dock to 1.0.24 or later, which keeps its licence in a new, safer form.

What to do

  1. 01Put this computer on the internet and open the toolbar. The check takes a second and happens by itself.
  2. 02To do it there and then, click License, then Check now.
  3. 03You do not need to sign in again.

Your work: Nothing in your document has been touched, and your plan has not changed.

This computer’s date looks wrong - connect to the internet once to check your plan

The computer’s clock reads earlier than the last time Dock checked in. Usually a flat battery on an older machine, or a date that has been set by hand.

What to do

  1. 01Put the date and time back to correct. On both Mac and Windows the setting is “set automatically”.
  2. 02Connect to the internet and open the toolbar again, or click License then Check now.

Your work: Nothing of yours has been touched. Dock stopped rather than guess.

The license service sent an answer this panel could not read. Please update FWDS Dock.

This copy of Dock is older than the licence service it is talking to, and cannot make sense of the reply.

What to do

  1. 01In the toolbar, click Check for updates, next to License.
  2. 02If it says you are up to date, download Dock again from the Dock page and install over the top.

Your work: Nothing of yours has been touched.

Still stuck

Message us on WhatsApp or write to support@filmweddingdays.com. Send us the line exactly as the toolbar shows it. It tells us what happened, so you will not be asked to explain it twice.
