FWDS Leaflo
Wedding album design software with auto-fill PSD layouts
Leaflo takes a wedding from a folder of photos to a print-ready album without leaving the app. Structure and styling are two deliberate passes: Story Cut decides what goes where, Compose decides how it looks, so changing the look never scrambles the story. Export is a layered PSD at print resolution, with the text still editable in Photoshop.

An 80-sheet wedding album usually takes 2-3 days to complete. A large part of that time goes into repetitive work such as arranging photos, choosing layouts, adjusting compositions, and making sheet-by-sheet changes.
FWDS Leaflo changes the workflow. The same kind of album can now be completed in just 1-2 hours, turning days of manual work into a much faster, smarter process. More speed, less repetitive work, and more time to focus on creating beautiful wedding stories.
Recorded, not drawn
A hundred seconds inside a real album
One take, no cuts, nothing sped up. A wedding we shot and delivered — thirty-nine sheets, two hundred and five photographs, every one of them placed — opened in the app you would buy.
FWDS Leaflo — Ravishanker Vharshini · 39 sheets · 205 photographs

- 01
The album opens
Thirty-nine sheets on the timeline. The library reads 205 of 205 used.
- 02
Captions in Tamil
The text panel writes Tamil or English, in a font off your own machine.
- 03
Layouts for the sheet you are on
Three photographs offers 26 designs. Eight offers 28. The count follows the sheet.
- 04
Your layouts, not ours
Two hundred and nine of your own. Suggest from My Layouts only stays ticked.
- 05
All thirty-nine at once
Empty frames 0. Notes 0. Wrong size 0. That is the check before export.
Nothing here is a mock-up or a re-enactment. This is the album the couple received, opened on a working machine — the Offline, will sync badge in the corner is the app’s own, not a caption we added.

Story Cut: the album’s structure
Story Cut assembles the shape of the album: priority groups, sheet counts, templates and bookends. The front of the book and the largest shapes are reserved for six labelled groups — three couple events, then three family events. Everything else needs no labelling, and no photo is placed twice.
- 02
Compose: the album’s look
Compose is the second pass: style, density, margins and background. Two names that share no words, for two jobs that should never be confused. You can restyle a finished album without touching a single photo placement, or rebuild the story without losing the look.
- 03
Your own PSD layouts
Import PSD File brings a Photoshop template into My Layouts: every layer named Placeholder becomes a photo slot, text stays editable, and the background comes with it. Story Cut then prefers your own templates, and never offers a landscape-only template to a spread of portraits.
- 04
A layered PSD your lab can print
Export is a real Photoshop document at 300 DPI, 10800 × 3600 px spreads, with text layers still editable and imported PSD templates round-tripping faithfully. PDF export has four quality stops, from a quick proof to Ultimate, and export names are written the way a lab wants them.
- 05
Sending it to the couple, and getting picks back
The Client Proofing Kit exports watermarked proofs as named versions, and Smart Selector turns the couple’s picks into a set renamed for delivery. Client Presentation is a view-only full-screen walkthrough at canvas quality.

Auto Learner: it watches how you correct it
Every hand correction after an auto build used to be thrown away. Auto Learner records them, stamps them with context, and spots the habits you repeat. It shows its confidence and asks before applying anything.
In detail
Everything else it does
The list a working studio actually asks about on the second call.
The photo library
- A linked library that scales to a full wedding, 500-plus photo imports are fast and resumable.
- Full-quality offline previews, so the album keeps working when the drive is unplugged.
- Drag straight in from Finder; spacebar for Quick Look on any thumbnail.
- A non-destructive bin, and a photo cache you can size or clear from Preferences.
Layouts and templates
- Built-in layouts plus My Layouts, both grouped by left:right frame count.
- Layout families that expand into collections, with search, categories and realistic thumbnails.
- Batch PSD template import, with size validation that blocks a mismatch instead of silently scaling it.
- Vertical mirror layouts, and left/right page variations that survive export.
- “Suggest from My Layouts only” when you want the album built from your own library.
On the canvas
- Selection handles, a contextual photo toolbar and a stage command toolbar.
- Smooth composited trackpad zoom and a hold-to-pan command you can rebind.
- Sheet Swap: exchange photos between two sheets, or within one.
- Insert a sheet anywhere in the rail; shift-range select and undoable multi-sheet delete.
- Arrow-key navigation: left and right move between sheets, up and down cycle layouts.
Text, type and art
- Type-Tool text blocks with box-width resize handles and a browser of your installed fonts.
- Photoshop text-transform and leading fidelity on import, with one wrap engine shared by every render path.
- A reusable floral and decorative vector-art library that floats free of the layout grid.
- Title sheets that auto-fill from the album specification.
Albums, export and the lab
- Multiple albums inside one project, with album boundaries and per-album numbering.
- Layered PSD, PDF at four quality stops, and JPG. All three render paths kept pixel-consistent.
- Lab-friendly per-album export names.
- Export cancellation, with readable failures for a missing linked photo or PSD.
Not losing work
- Automatic save every two minutes.
- Offline save fallback that syncs itself when the project’s drive reconnects.
- A real .fwds save destination. The project is a file you own, not a hidden record.
- A DaVinci-style project manager, full menu accelerators, customisable shortcuts and command chords.
On screen
Four screens you will use on every album
The app’s own screens, with real album pages inside them — sheets from a wedding we shot, designed in Leaflo and exported from it at print size. Nothing on the page is redrawn.
Story Cut builds the structure
Label the couple and family frames and Story Cut reserves the front of the album and the largest shapes for them. You set the sheet count, the opening and closing sheets, and whether it may only draw from your own layout library. Everything else flows through the standard engine untouched.
Swap a photograph without breaking the crop
Put two sheets side by side, click a frame on each, press Swap. The photographs change places and each frame keeps the crop and scale it was already given, rather than taking a picture in at the wrong size. Sheets 4 and 25 here are built on the same PSD template, so the two marked frames are the same slot to the millimetre — and both rows are the sheets as Leaflo exported them. Two frames on one sheet work the same way, and either is a single undo step.
The whole album on one screen
Every sheet as the exported page itself, in order, labelled the way the album is numbered — sheet ten of album two, not sheet thirty-two of everything. Filter to the sheets with an empty frame, a note on them, or a photograph sitting at the wrong size, and drag one to move it in the timeline.
A workspace built only for the correction round
The couple’s notes come back pinned to the frame they are about. Each one is typed into the placeholder that matches the photograph, read into an operation Leaflo understands — move crop, swap, remove, resize — and queued. Nothing moves until you apply the queue, on this sheet or across the album, and every version is kept.

Will it run
What FWDS Leaflo needs from your machine
Measured on a real install. Where a figure is reasoning rather than measurement, it says so.
Windows
- Version
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- Processor
- Intel or AMD, 64-bit
- Download
- 165 MB
- Disk after install
- 519 MB
- Admin rights
- Not needed. It installs to your user folder.
Windows 7 and 8 cannot work. Chrome, which the app is built on, dropped them.
Mac
- Chip
- Apple silicon only: M1 or newer
- Version
- macOS 14 Sonoma or later
- Disk after install
- 408 MB
Intel Macs are not supported. The PSD engine has no Intel build available. That is a missing part from someone else, not a choice.
Either machine
- Screen
- 1280 × 720 or larger
- Memory
- 8 GB minimum, 16 GB comfortable
- Python
- Not needed. It is built into the app.
- Internet
- Not to design. To sign in, and once every seven days.
The trial checks in each time Leaflo opens. Beyond that, the internet is needed for one thing: sending an album to the couple for proofing.
The part people forget
The app is small. Your work is not. This is our own working folder, measured today:
- Albums, versions, template library
- 3.4 GB
- Photo previews
- 1.3 GB
- Background-removal cache
- 250 MB
- Safety backups
- 91 MB
- Total
- 5.0 GB
So the real answer on disk is half a gigabyte for the app, and 10 to 20 GB free for the work. A machine with 5 GB free will install fine and then struggle.
Where these came from
- The memory figures are an estimate rather than a tested result. One album sheet at print size is about 39 million pixels, and the app holds a few of those at once while exporting.
- macOS 14 is measured, from the built app: the PSD reader inside it is built for Sonoma, so on an older Mac Leaflo opens but cannot import a PSD.
- The screen size is not an estimate. A Windows laptop at 150% zoom reports 1280 × 720, and every dialog was fixed to fit that.
Questions
What studios ask before they try Leaflo
Short answers, from the same facts as the rest of this page. Anything else, ask us, or read how the five apps fit together.
Can I use my own PSD album templates?
Yes. Import PSD File brings a Photoshop template into My Layouts, one at a time or in a batch. Every layer named Placeholder becomes a photo slot, text stays editable and the background comes with it. Story Cut then prefers your own templates, and a template the wrong size for the album is refused rather than stretched.
Does Leaflo do 12 × 36 albums?
Yes. A 12 × 36 inch album is a 36 × 12 inch spread, and Leaflo exports it at 300 DPI as 10800 × 3600 pixels. The album size is set when you start the project, and the layouts and templates it offers follow that size.
Do I need Photoshop?
Not to design. Leaflo writes the layered PSD itself, and it also exports PDF and JPG. You need Photoshop only if you want to open that PSD afterwards.
How do the couple’s picks get into the album?
FWDS Pick exports the couple’s selection as one filename per line. Paste it into Leaflo’s Smart Selector and the chosen photographs are gathered and renamed for delivery.
Does Leaflo need the internet?
Not to design or export. It needs a connection to sign in, to check in at least once every seven days on a paid plan (each time it opens during the trial), and to send an album to the couple for proofing.
Which computers does it run on?
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, or a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) on macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Intel Macs are not supported. Keep 10 to 20 GB free for albums and previews.
Is there a free trial of FWDS Leaflo?
Yes. The 10-day trial is the whole app — every feature, full size, nothing switched off. Exports carry a small trial mark until you buy, and it goes the moment you do. It runs on one computer. No card is needed.
